Monday again, it's surprising how fast Mondays come round. Perhaps someone has sneaked a few extra Mondays into every week without anyone noticing. Today hasn't been a bad day, only a few drops and one collection all in my usual area. The trouble was that they covered the extent of my area, or nearly so. What looked like it should take me until four pm before getting back to base took me until nearly six pm. But still I got everything done and back to base with my collection so all is well. There was nothing particularly remarkable about the day, it's been cold and blustery with the occasional light shower. The high point was seeing more swallows. They are late back this year and their arrival seems protracted, not that I blame them it's not particularly a welcoming spring. The tourist season hasn't really got started yet so the A64 isn't too bad at the moment but by Friday it will be horrible as people try to make their way to the coast for the bank holiday weekend. And to add to the congestion we now have a Yorkshire cycle race. More men in tights, a most unwelcome sight. Why can't people who get on cycles dress normally instead of looking like the cast of the Rocky Horror Show. I'm sure it isn't compulsory to dress like that but it's enough to put you off getting on a bike.
See you tomorrow.
