03/07/18

After my previous two rants I will be more positive here.  I am still driving around the beautiful county of Yorkshire delivering agricultural type products to our customers.  One of my colleagues has been off ill for the last few weeks I hope he is soon well and back to work, but for the last two weeks I have been driving his truck which was new this year.  What an improvement over my eleven year old vehicle.  I am well past the age where I'm impressed by shiny new machinery and didn't want a new truck but all that's changed.  When the truck is vastly more comfortable much easier to drive, being an automatic, and has air conditioning giving me a less fatiguing day I'm all for it.  Well done DAF, I have informed our transport manager that "I WANT ONE".  His reply was "be patient, yours is next to be renewed." I'm not that good at patience.  While I sincerely wish my colleague a swift recovery I don't want him to hasten back to work too quickly.

UK Mail Non Delivery Service and Giffgaff

UK Mail, part of or owned by DHL do it again.;  Despite my trying to stop them they attempted delivery again when there was no one it.  This time they left a card to prove they had attempted delivery.  They claimed my neighbor was out but that would depend on which neighbor they tried.  In my opinion UK Mail and DHL and probably everything related to them is a waste of time for the general public.  Their service may be good enough for business to business where there will be someone available to take delivery. I have found that I am passing the depot tomorrow in the course of my work so I am able to collect the item but that isn't the point.  They have been paid to deliver and that is what they should do.  The whole experience has left me angry.  I have just looked at the phone ratings on Giffgaff and all the single star scores but one relate to UK Mail and not the phone itself.  I hope Giffgaff will eventually take notice and change delivery companies. Giffgaff offer an excellent product for mobile phone calls and good phone deals but very poor delivery of new phones.;

UK Mail DHL A warning

I ordered a new phone, I got a good deal for a phone I wanted from giffgaff.  I am a gifffgaff user and am happy with the service they provide, it suits my needs very well.  Now for the problems.  Unfortunately they sent the phone via UK Mail, this company is part of DHL.  DHL and UK Mail deliver Monday to Friday during normal working hours.  We work Monday to Friday at slightly more than normal working hours.  I was unable to find a way to change the delivery address on their so called "Manage your Delivery" system so was unable to prevent them wasting time and fuel trying to make a delivery that wasn't possible.
The goods have now arrived at their depot which is fifteen miles away and also open for normal working hours.
There was no card through my door so I am unable to prove that they actually attempted to make a delivery.
I am able to request another delivery slot, Monday to Friday for which we won't be in but I am unable to change the delivery address to one where I know there will be someone available to sign for it.  The question is "how am I to receive my goods?"  I have had similar problems with DHL previously and wouldn't have placed the order if I had known the delivery company had any links to DHL.  So far as I'm concerned and in my own oppinion DHL and their associated companies are of no use what so ever.  That is my opinion and I am giving it as a warning to others. Use the Royal Mail it works and if you are out your parcel will be delivered to your local post office available to collect at your convenience.
