12/05/15

Today the deliveries were good, even the first load to Malton store.  What was not good was the piece of paper which we were asked to read and then sign another sheet to say we had read it;.  Basically the paper placed us, that is the drivers, in the position of refusing to deliver goods if the goods were paid for over the phone by a credit or debit card whilst not allowing us to know which drops had been paid for in this way.  So basically we are left liable for office staff selling incorrectly and leaving the company open to fraud.  This has come about because the office has twice fallen for a stolen credit card scam.  So we are to take responsibility for office mistakes and are given no guidance as to which drops may fall under the auspices of the set of instructions.  This is also a failure of due care for us as employees, as it seems the office is able and willing to put us at risk by processing dodgy deals and leaving us to refuse delivery.  It's not that I'm a nervous small person it's just that I don't like the idea of being placed in a situation that could endanger me by people who go nowhere near the customer.  To make matters worse when I brought up the problem I was treated as a winger.  All in all I'm very unhappy with the situation and am checking the employment prospects for a driver of even someone who can lift heavy things.  See you tomorrow.
