09/04/14

Good day today, mostly sunshine though it wasn't very warm.  Loaded for Carlton store and four farm drops.  Foggathorpe with sixteen trays of cat food, Newport with four bags of dry cat food, the cats of Yorkshire really are being looked after.  Fifteen bags of pig creep feed to West Haddersley, one of my favourite drops then six bags of Cattle minerals to Thrope Willoughby, though I wasn't able to leave the minerals as I had loaded sheep minerals instead of cattle, careless of me.  Dropped the rest of the load at Carlton store, had a coffee before going on to Little Airmyn to collect six tonnes of barley seed and a quarter tonne of oat seed.  Only part of the load was for delivery today, eight half tonne bags to Shipton by Benningbrough, then three quarters of a tonne to Helperby.  Luckily there was someone available to unload me at both drops so I was back on my way quickly enough.  Went back to base from Thirsk which involved driving up Sutton Bank.  Its a steep climb and caravans are banned from the route, strange how often they don't believe it until they get to the foot of the hill.  Sure enough there was a caravan man trying to turn round and the foot of the hill.  I won't try it in my truck if I'm fully loaded, I've done it once and it was an only just.  If I had one of the new trucks I wouldn't worry they have at least another hundred horse power on mine.  See you tomorrow.
